Product Classification Services: |

|
|

The two forms of classification that are most common are the Schedule
B number or its Harmonized
Tariff Schedule equivalent
and the Export Control Classification
Number. It is clearly the obligation of
the exporter or importer to determine these classifications. FTS
simplifies the process for the client by providing the alternatives and
clarifications that relate to the product being exported or imported. The
client does the final determination of the classification. FTS simply
removes the mystery and performs most of the legwork and research. There
can be many notes that must be carefully reviewed that can impact the determination
process. Many traders are unaware that these notes exist. FTS will also
assist the client in preparing the submissions to the respective federal
agencies for binding determinations. |

This ten digit number is used in the statistical reporting of the export
shipment data to the Bureau of the Census. For export purposes, they are
equally acceptable to the government. The Harmonized Tariff Number, however
is the only acceptable format for imports into the United States. |
